  Upon arriving at pumps mid-day on August 15th I needed to fill with gas, clean my windshield, use the restroom and purchase a snack. The location was perfect as it is not a busy interchange. Unfortunately there was a scant bit of very dirty water in the container for the windshield squeegee though I managed to get the majority of bugs scrubbed off. Upon entering the men's room I was a bit surprised with the mess and lack of supplies. Certainly inconsiderate patrons made such a mess and having worked in a gas station as a young man I know of the disgusting messes which people leave. I however cleaned such up so that the next patrons would have a favorable view of where I worked and importantly replenished the supplies they would need. Then I selected my snack and waited in the one cashier line functioning while there were two women behind the counter...one standing watching the other rather than inviting patrons to her cash register. Upon tendering a $5 bill for my $3.33 tab the woman asked me if I had the 33 cents. Apparently she was out of change and didn't want to either get change. Eventually she asked the other woman to change a $1 bill so that she could make change.
  My guess is that either the standards are not very high in Cozad or there is a limited work force to draw from. I would think jobs would be scarce and getting one would be a great find. I would only hope that the management of this place would expect more.
  If you want to see a fine functioning gas station/convenience store stop by the Kwik Trip at the intersection of County Road 19 and Interstate 94 just East of St. Paul, MN. The place is spotless with everything in order and replenished. You ALWAYS get a cordial greeting, are asked if you found everything you were looking for and bid adieu with "see you next time". Having been there once you would go out of your way to return....quite unlike the Casey's in Cozad.
